Lubusz Laurels 2025

Another edition of one of the most important cultural events in the region is just around the corner.

The competition comprises three categories.

• The Lubuski Wawrzyn Literacki (Lubusz Literary Laurel), now in its 31st year, is aimed at authors connected with the Lubusz Province, formerly Zielona Góra or Gorzów, either through their place of birth, residence or the publication of a book by a Lubusz publishing house. It is a space for literature that is created close to the region and its experiences.
• The Lubuski Wawrzyn Naukowy (Lubusz Scientific Laurel), celebrating its 20th edition this year, promotes scientific and popular science publications devoted to regional topics, with particular emphasis on the Middle Odra River region and the Lubusz Province. The competition emphasises the importance of research and publications that bring the history, culture and development of the region closer to the public.
• The Lubuski Wawrzyn Dziennikarski (Lubusz Journalism Laurel), organised for the 11th time, honours the authors of the best journalistic materials related to the region. The awards are open to authors of reportages, columns, essays, journalistic articles and other forms of journalism published in the press, radio, television and online media.

There is also a ‘Readers’ Award’, the winner of which will be selected through online voting.

For years, Lubuskie Wawrzyny has remained an important meeting place for literature, science and journalism, as well as an opportunity to recognise people who build the identity of the region through their work.

The winners of the 2025 Lubuskie Wawrzyny awards will receive their prizes during a gala ceremony scheduled for 26 February at 6 p.m. in the Janusz Koniusz Hall at al. Wojska Polskiego 9 in Zielona Góra.
