Summary of the 15th National Conference of Music Librarians and the 9th National Conference of Sound Librarians
On November 28-30, The 15th National Conference of Music Librarians “Music Library – an idea tuned to time” and the 9th National Conference of Fonotek “To the great Polish musicians of the interwar period” took place in 2012. Four sessions were devoted to music libraries, and two sessions to sound libraries.
As a manufacturer of the PROLIB library system, we value participation in such an event because of the opportunity to learn about the current needs of our customers. This year, the discussion focused on the transcription of sheet music, the creation of music databases and searching for them in library catalogs along with additional functions.
The group of music libraries serviced by Sygnity Business Solutions currently includes: the Library of the Academy of Music in Wrocław, the Library of the Academy of Music in Katowice and the Library of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk.
The PROLIB system provides support for musical items in the field of music prints, music manuscripts, music publications (print and manuscript), music iconography, audio and audiovisual documents. You can link covers and other files (including music and images) to bibliographic records. And also many other features. There are also plans for further facilities for librarians and readers with this particular specificity. The environment of music libraries also appreciates the high level of service of the PROLIB system, which we could experience during the conference.
