GIG – New Quatra Max implementation
The ERP Quatra MAX IT system will support the Central Mining Institute! The contract was signed on May 13, 2022.
The implementation includes the following Quatra Max system modules:
- Finances and accountancy,
- Fixed assets,
- HR and Payroll,
- Sale,
- Employee Portal,
- Managing customer relations,
- Project management,
- Electronic Document Circulation.
Sygnity Business Solutions will also deal with the maintenance service and development works.
The pre-implementation analysis is currently underway.
The Central Mining Institute is one of the largest research institutes in Poland.
It operates on the basis of the Act on Research Institutes of April 30, 2010, and is supervised by the Minister of State Assets. The activity of GIG covers the most important aspects of mining
and geoengineering, environmental engineering and work safety in industry.
The rich history of the Institute, dating back to 1925, is associated with the establishment of the Barbara Experimental Mine – Centrala Ratownictwa Górniczego and Magnetic Observatory in Mikołów, which was the first unit in Poland to conduct research for work safety in mining. Since 1945, KD Barbara has been operating as part of the Institute, being one of the key elements of its scientific and research structure, and its testing ground is one place in Europe where gas and dust explosion tests can be conducted on a natural scale and in real conditions for all industrial sectors. test machines and devices intended for operation in an explosive atmosphere.
Today, the Institute has a dozen or so research units created by numerous laboratories and laboratories, as part of it, interdisciplinary research centers have been established: Center for Clean Coal Technologies, Center for Environmental Engineering, Silesian Center of Environmental Radiometry of Maria Goeppert-Mayer and the Center for Research on Climate and Renewable Energy Sources.
Within the structure of GIG there is also a Conformity Assessment Unit dealing with certification, notification, accreditation and one of the largest training centers in Silesia – the Competence Development Center.
The Scientific Library at the Central Mining Institute has been working in the PROLIB library system since 2015, primarily using the Bibliography module. Recently, this scope has been extended to the basic modules of the PROLIB system supporting library processes, as well as the INTEGRO Central Index catalog.
The Central Mining Institute has the A research category and has full academic rights to award doctoral and postdoctoral degrees and habilitation degrees in engineering and technical sciences and to apply for the title of professor in the scientific discipline “environmental engineering, mining and energy”.
The Institute is included in the list of Notified Bodies of the European Union, has the international IECEx accreditation, and the Institute’s research laboratories are accredited by the Polish Center for Testing and Certification, Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, the Central Office of Measures and the Polish Ship Register.
