October PROLIB team conferences

In October our team had the pleasure two participate in two important conferences.

Good Practices Forum

The first of these events was the Good Practices Forum organized by the Main Library of the Wroclaw University of Economics. The conference focused on the topic of “The Future of Libraries in the European Union – Opportunities and Challenges, Open Policy.” Our presentation at this conference focused on the role of libraries in digital education, in line with the priorities of the European Union in this area. We emphasized that libraries can act as an ecosystem supporting digital education by providing tools and services that enhance the digital skills of users. Additionally, we presented modern solutions and features that can assist libraries in this process. We are grateful for the organizers for the opportunity to participate in this important event and for the inspiration that we will use in further developing the PROLIB system.

XLIII Meeting of the Regional Bibliography Team of the Main

XLIII Meeting of the Regional Bibliography Team of the Main Board of the Polish Librarians’ Association, organized at the Silesian Library

The second conference we attended was the XLIII Meeting of the Regional Bibliography Team of the Main Board of the Polish Librarians’ Association, organized at the Silesian Library. The event was titled “Regional Bibliography – Between the Past and the Future” and took place on October 5-6, 2023. The conference brought together representatives from regional and municipal libraries, as well as academic institutions from across the country. The meeting was divided into two days, with the first day dedicated to the history and traditions of the Silesian Library and regional bibliography, including German bibliographies of Silesia up to 1945. On the second day of the conference, the focus was on the future of bibliography on digital platforms and its role in the context of digitizing regional collections. Our presentation took place on the second day and addressed the effective communication of information about library resources to users, including bibliographic publications, in a consistent and understandable manner.

Both conferences were not only an opportunity to share knowledge and experience but also to build inspiring relationships with other participants.
